Over 200,000 views for 'I am a loser' thanks to NG

Posted by jackbliss - January 13th, 2016

Our song 'I am a loser' was first front paged right here on Newgrounds 5 years ago and since then it's reached over 200,000 views on YouTube. If it had not been for the initial boost by Newgrounds this video probably wouldn't have even reached so many views. Thank you so much! I am eternally grateful for making this possible! :)

The original NG version can be found here http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/546656

Special thanks also to AlbinoBlackSheep.com

congrats, it was well made, so you deserved it :D

Thank you very much! Means a lot :)

nice video/song, its a bit depressing, but i like it!

you are worthy of the fame, sir!

keep up the good work!

Thank you so much. I hope the ending is more inspiring. I will keep working and uploading thanks to your comments :)

"True sorrow in life comes not from being sad, but pretending to be happy...
...the real losers are not those who lost others, but those who have failed themselves."

You made me giggle. You don't know true pain. To be stepped on until you give up everything even if you had good reasons. Even I haven't lived through the worst there is, but from what I experienced I can say the sorrow from depression and loneliness are suffocating. Normal people are the ones who lie to themselves and deny the bad things to put a 'happy mask', Losers are those who are remembered so vividly of their grim reality the mask just falls off. Be it bad luck or whatever other reasons.

So basically, the first part of the song was pretty accurate but the 'redemption' at the end was awkward and not really well written, I have a feeling it could still be there if there was a little more though put into it. Is it really that easy( and corny) to shake off haunting memories and habits?

Hi thanks for the detailed review. I really appreciate your positive feedback overall and I agree with some parts of your critique. Depression is very deep and having been a victim of low self respect for myself over the years especially at the time I wrote this song, I know that a simple song like this can't work miracles. However I really didn't want to end the video with the first part alone because something inside me said I must show some light no matter how brief or unrealistic because really what do I have to lose. That's what really helped me in my own life. I started to stop being over practical and realistic lowering myself and started indulging in my fantasies and real dreams. Reach for the stars and even if you miss you'll atleast touch the sky instead of thinking you will always be in the gutters.

Anywayz I hope my detailed reply gave some light to why I made this video the way it is. Thanks again for your time in writing your honest review :)
