This makes me want to get a cat. How much hassle are they to feed and clean etc.?

They are the easiest pets MUCH easier to handle than dogs. Cats usually clean themselves but you could brush them now and then at those hard to reach spots. Feeding well... I give my cats boiled chicken and fish occasionally feeding them cat food. Also if you let your cat go out then they take care of the bathroom part BUT if you want your cat indoors at all times just buy a kitty litter. Hope this helps :)
