personally the most i think we should do is simply have a spring month like march or april where everyones power is cut and they all have to live on there own resources and destory a few polluting buildings to make a massive ecocenter that has everything america would need to stay alive

Save the environment from it's self by toughening it up. Don't go soft on it, dump all the plastics you can and teach the environment to evolve to consume plastic.
Lol I'm sure in a matter of millions of years that might happen but we would have long killed ourselves before that :P
